Assistant Respiratory, Sleep Physiologist

An Assistant Respiratory, Sleep Physiologist works with patients and assists in the efficient and effective provision of sleep clinics, respiratory investigation sessions and equipment preparation.

As an Assistant Respiratory, Sleep Physiologist you will: 

  • communicate with patients, relatives, visitors, senior colleagues, clinicians, nursing staff, and other internal and external organisations 
  • assist in the efficient and effective provision of sleep clinics, respiratory investigation sessions and equipment preparation 
  • assist Physiologists in ensuring the clinical area is clean and taking corrective action as necessary 
  • work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team 
  • adhere to departmental protocols 
  • undertake appropriate in-service training and achieve required competencies 
  • maintain patient confidentiality of patients at all times 

To become an Assistant Respiratory, Sleep Physiologist you will need to show:

  • good interpersonal skills 
  • good organisational skills 
  • computer literacy – word/excel 

Desirable: 

  • experience using hospital systems: PAS 
  • basic life support/first aid 

£18,870 – £19,918 per annum 

37.5 hours per week

As an Assistant Respiratory, Sleep Physiologist you will be: 

  • working in a multidisciplinary team, based in a hospital 
  • working in a team that includes specialist nurses, specialist doctors of respiratory and sleep medicine, physiotherapists and other healthcare science staff 
  • working in a hospital and you will be dealing with a variety of patients attending clinics and appointments 
  • assisting senior colleagues in the performance of a range of respiratory and sleep related tests
